Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has a work programme around neurodiversity. The aim of the work is to:
- better understand the impacts of neurodiversity on learners in the tertiary system (challenges, barriers, and benefits)
- provide support and advice to tertiary education organisations around how to support neurodiverse learners
- provide advice to employers in the vocational education sector around how to support neurodiverse work based learning
The first focus area for the programme is dyslexia. As background work to develop our advice in this area, we commissioned a subject matter expert, supported by an advisory group, to produce a report on International Practice in Support of Dyslexic Learners in Tertiary Education. We hope TEO’s and those working in the adult education field find this summary report helpful.
As we develop further resources in this area we will make them available.
