Education Minister Chris Hipkins is encouraging New Zealanders to have their say on the future of education – from early childhood to tertiary and beyond – with the release of a draft document detailing the priorities that will help shape that future.

Shaping a Stronger Education System with New Zealanders is a discussion document that outlines the long-term vision, objectives and actions for the education system. The document also outlines the draft priorities for the National Education and Learning Priorities (NELP) and the Tertiary Education Strategy (TES).

Consultation on the draft TES closes 25 October

The NELP and the TES translate the vision and objectives for education into priorities for places of learning from early learning through to tertiary education. For the first time, there is an integrated approach and direction across the education system.

You can provide feedback on these priorities via an online survey, submissions and targeted face-to-face consultations. Consultation closes on 25 October.
