The PBRF Sector Reference Group (SRG) is consulting on the roles and person specifications needed for the Moderation Team for Quality Evaluation 2025. You can access the consultation paper on the TEC website.

Moderation is a critical element of the Quality Evaluation peer review process and is designed to promote systematic reflection on issues of consistency, standards, and cross-panel calibration. The Moderation Team is responsible for delivering this important oversight function.

At its meeting on 23 March 2022, the SRG agreed a proposal for changes to the Moderation Team, aimed at reflecting the new PBRF principles and supporting the changes to the Quality Evaluation decided by Cabinet. The Group now seeks feedback on the proposal.

Feedback on the Moderation Team consultation will be considered by the SRG in May, and recommendations made to the TEC. Following its decisions, the TEC will commence the Moderation Team appointment process.

The confirmed consultation schedule is available on the TEC website, and updates including consultation outcomes will be made regularly. The SRG is operating between September 2021 and the publication of the final Quality Evaluation 2025 Guidelines in June 2023.

The consultation period for this second paper is 31 March – 27 April 2022. Feedback may be submitted via the online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HMNNCNG

Information on the 2025 Quality Evaluation and the SRG is available on the TEC website.
