Keep track of all the important dates with our business calendar. 

The calendar includes key dates for the tertiary sector, including tertiary education institutions (TEIs), universities, institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs), private training establishments (PTEs), wānanga, industry training organisations (ITOs), modern apprenticeship coordinators (MACs), and state or state-integrated schools.     

 

August 2017

Dates for TEOs:

  • By 7 August submit Priority Engineering report via Workspace 2
  • 14 August: Adult Literacy Educator Grants, second progress report due
  • 21 August: final submission date for August SDR
  • By 31 August: (TEIs on 1 year plans who need a new plan for 2018) and industry training organisations submit Investment Plans via Workspace 2 
  • By 31 August: (TEOs) submit updated MoP template with new rates 
  • submit ICT Graduate Schools progress reports
  • Gateway applications for new schools close
  • (higher risk TEIs) - provide financial update to TEC
  • submit Adult Literacy Educator Grant (ALEG) report via Workspace 2
  • submit Medical Intern numbers (Otago and Auckland)

  • 28 September - applications for 2018 DualPathways Pilot funding close

Dates for TEC:

  • start TEI and industry training organisation Investment Plan assessment for those TEIs on 1-year plans
  • undertake indicative 2017 PBRF funding calculations
  • analyse August SDR (payments reduced or withheld for future months where necessary)
  • 12-14 September – ITENZ Conference
  • publish 2016 educational performance indicators (EPIs) using current and new methodology

Dates for TEOs:

  • 31 January: final submission date for the 2016 December Single Data Return (SDR)
  • 31 January: final submission date for 2016 Workspace 2 data returns (WS2) for:
    • Adult Community Education (ACE)
    • Refugee English Final Report for 2016
    • Intensive Literacy and Numeracy (ILN) – Final Report for 2016
    • Intensive Literacy and Numeracy ESOL (ILN ESOL) – Final Report for 2016
    • TEO-led Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WLN) – Final Report for 2016
  • submit all end-of-year Actuals reports (including all Literacy funds, ACE in Schools, Gateway and Trades Academies).

Dates for TEC:

  • 4 January: start prior year funding recovery process
  • publish educational performance indicators (EPI) timeline
  • start 2017 Investment Plan monitoring and engagement
  • deliver Q2 report to Minister (on progress made against Statement of Intent and Statement of Performance Expectation).

Dates for TEOs:

  • 3 February: CAPEs Request for Funding Applications due by 12:00 noon
  • 21 February: TEI Financial Monitoring Framework Review feedback due
  • 24 February: Gateway Unit Standard Results for 2016 due on Workspace 2
  • 28 February: TEIs receiving Equity Funding for students with disablities must provide an annual report using the reporting template. The report needs to be submitted via Workspace 2 by 5pm
  • TEIs provide to TEC three-year financial forecasts, indicative 2016 financial results and 2017 budget information
  • CEPs provide financial viability attestations.

Dates for TEC:

  • week of 8 February: upload 2016 Student Achievement Component (SAC) and Youth Guarantee (YG) EPIs on Analyse My Performance on Workspace 2 (updated if providers have any changes until May)
  • week of 13 February: provide 2016 recovery advice to all TEIs, PTEs, CEPs, schools  
  • recoveries advice sent to ITPs, universities and wānanga (February/March)
  • analyse literacy funds, ACE and Gateway data.

  • 30 April: submit Centre of Research Excellence Annual Reports for the Maurice Wilkins Centre, Brain Research New Zealand, MedTech CoRE, Te Pūnaha Matatini and Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga. 

Dates for TEC:  

  • finalise Industry Training performance information for 2016 for publication and upload it to Workspace 2
  • send out final 2016 ITO recoveries advice
  • upload PLF simulation model to Workspace 2
  • deliver Q3 report to Minister (on progress made against Statement of Intent and Statement of Performance Expectation)
  • 28 April: close the 2016 educational performance indicator (EPI) data. 

May 2017

Dates for TEOs: 

  • 31 May: last date to submit Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) prior year external research income (ERI) declarations via Workspace 2
  • (TEIs) submit annual audited financial results, updates to forecast financial information
  • (TEIs) submit 10-year Capital Asset spending intentions and Capital Asset Management capability assessments. 

Dates for TEC:  

  • 15 May: Audit questionnaires issued to TEOs participating in the  Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) 2018 Quality Evaluation
  • upload TEOs final updated performance against commitments information (SDR) to Workspace 2
  • engage with TEIs and PTEs where required regarding under-delivery and low-performing provision 
  • complete previous year’s recovery of funding
  • notify participating TEOs of the Audit Methodology for the Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) Quality Evaluation (QE) 2018 process audit.

  • (PTEs not exempt from Investment Plans) ─ submit Investment Plans via Workspace 2
  • submit Trades Academies progress report
  • submit (manually) Youth Guarantee Secondary-Tertiary Pilot progress report
  • apply to the Ministry of Education (via TEC) for an ESL login to access the Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) QE 2018 IT system
  • apply to the TEC for FTP credentials required to upload EPs and NROs

Dates for TEC:

  • notify TEOs of PLF adjustments to December payments via Workspace 2
  • notify providers of adjustments from PBRF wash-up 
  • upload PBRF data on RDC to Workspace 2
  • input to NZQA PTE EERs scheduled between September-December
  • carry out six month analysis of Employer-led Workplace Literacy & Numeracy Fund
  • notify participating TEOs that the PBRF QE 2018 IT system is available for uploading Evidence Portfolios(EPs) and Nominated Research Outputs (NROs)

January 2016

Dates for TEOs:

  • submit December Single Data Return (SDR) ─ 29 January
  • submit all end-of-year manual reports (including all Literacy funds Adult and Community Education (ACE) in Schools, Gateway, and Trades Academies)
  • submit 2016 Industry Training Register (ITR) data
  • submit December 2015 priority engineering reports ─ due 22 January.

  • start prior year funding recoveries
  • publish educational performance indicators  (EPI) timeline
