The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) has taken a phased approach to implementing the performance element of the learner component.
We have awarded the National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence (NCTTE) Fund to a consortium of three tertiary education organisations (TEOs): Massey University, Te Pūkenga and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
TEOs and schools may use an alternative method to verify a learner’s identity and eligibility for ACE enrolment in exceptional circumstances where the learner does not have access to one of the documents outlined in the funding condition.
In July 2023, the Ministry of Education consulted with the sector on the funding determinations (also known as the funding mechanisms) and fee regulation settings for 2024.
The Minister of Education has now approved the final determinations, fee regulation settings, Fees Free and Tūwhitia delegations which take effect from 1 January 2024.
